Angelo E. Buro, 92

Angelo E. Buro, of Belleville, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the V.A. Medical Center @ Lyons. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Belleville 55 years ago. Mr. Buro was a pressman for International Ticket in Newark. An Army Veteran of WWII, he was a
Purple Heart recipient.
The beloved husband of Anna (Annunziata) Buro, he is also survived by his sons, Donald J. Buro & his wife Jan and James Buro & his wife Angela; his sisters, Catherine D’Ambrosio, Mary Caiazzo, Frances Muscanera, Jennie Albanese & Tessie Tricarico and his brothers, Nick, Edward, Robert & Joseph.

The funeral will be Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, with a mass celebrated at
St. Mary's Church, Nutley at 10:30 a.m.

The interment will follow at
Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.

Visiting hours will be Sunday only, from 1-5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Franciscan Sisters, c/o Our Lady of the Angels Convent, 253 Knickerbocker Rd., Tenafly, NJ 07670, would be appreciated.


 


Isabelle Gomes, 93

Isabelle Gomes, of Belleville, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 At Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.  Born in Roselle Park, she lived in Belleville and Middlesex, before returning to Belleville 4 years ago.   She was the co-owner of Coccia Supreme Bakery in Belleville.  The beloved wife of the late Elias Gomes, Sr., she is survived by her sons; Russell and Elias Gomes, Jr.; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be Saturday, 9 a.m. at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, with a mass celebrated at St. Valentine Church, Bloomfield at 10 a.m. 

The interment will follow at
St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. 

Visiting hours will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Louis V. Jerin, 79

Louis V. Jerin, of Belleville, died at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville on Thursday, October 9, 2008, after a brief illness.
The son of the late Joseph and Lucia (Skrabar) Jerin, Mr. Jerin was born and raised in Vandling, PA and graduated from Vandling High School in 1947. He resided in Roselle Park and Elizabeth before moving to Belleville in 1965. He was an accountant with the American Insurance Co. for 10 years. He then joined the Midlantic National Bank as a Trust Officer and tax accountant, retiring in 1994 after 25 years.
In 1948, Mr. Jerin enlisted in the United States Air Force and was trained as a radio operator. During the Korean War, he participated in the Inchon invasion with the 7th Division as a member of the Tactical Air Control Party and the retreat from the Chosen Reservoir with the 3rd Division. The remaining portion of his enlistment was spent at Yokota Air Force, Japan. With the G.I. Bill, Mr. Jerin attended the University of Scranton, graduating with a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1958.
Mr. Jerin was a member of several veterans’ organizations, including V.F.W. Post 4712, The American Legion, Post 0524, the Korean War Veteran’s Association and the Mosquitos. He was also a member of the Belleville Seniors, the A.A.R.P. and the American Slovenian Heritage Club, Forest City, PA.
He is survived by his sister, Josephine Terchek, a brother, Joseph Jerin and his wife, Catherine; several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. on Monday from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home,  with a funeral mass celebrated at St. Valentine Church, Bloomfield at 10 a.m.

The interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Forest City, PA.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday 2-5 PM.
