Albert Gatto, 81, a lifelong resident of Newark, passed away on Monday September 27, 2021. Albert was the son of the late Frank and Michelina (La Morte) Gatto and was a barber at Frank’s Barber Shop in Newark. He was later employed for many years with the NJ Sports and Exposition Authority at the Meadowlands before retiring. Albert was the dear brother of Theresa Lombardi and the late Angelina Cignarella and Josephine Pellicoro, loving uncle of Nicholas Pellicoro and his wife, Tammi; Luigi Cignarella and his wife, Jeanine; Franco Cignarella and his wife, Eleanor; Gerard Cignarella, Pasquale Cignarella, Jr. and his wife, Mary, also great uncle of Cheyenne and Dante Pellicoro, Antonia, Sophia, Francesca and Santino Cignarella. He is also survived his brother-in-law, Pasquale Cignarella.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday, September 29 at 9 am.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lucy’s Church, Newark at 10 am followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
