Obituary for Alexis Michele Lelio

Alexis Michele Lelio, age 28 of Brick/Belleville, NJ left this world too soon on July 24, 2020.

“She was a tornado, violent but beautiful at the same time.” A statement that so accurately depicts her. She was a force to be reckoned with- a strong-willed and fearless, beautiful soul who loved her family with every ounce of her heart. Alexis left behind such a unique legacy- having always been known as the crazy, unpredictable, amazing spirit who made living life to the fullest appear effortless. Alexis had a heart of gold with an immense passion for helping animals. As a K9 trainer and animal rescuer, she dedicated her life and energy to save all living beings no matter how big or small.

Alexis is survived by her loving Mother, Michele Lelio and co-parent Delizia (Dee) Pannullo, her siblings Michael, Tyler, Nikki, and Zachary. She is greatly missed by her doggy daughters Betsy and Sienna and her many other rescue animals. She is rejoined with her soulmate, Christopher Galvin.

Also, her beloved grandparents Eleanor and the late Michael Lelio, her aunts Carol, Elaine and Linda, and her cousins Kristin, Pete, Nicole, Kaitlyn, Joshua, Makenzie, Nicholas, Gabriella, Pietro, Dominic, Marco, Anthony, Carlo, and Frankie.

Alexis’ final act was to give the gift of life through organ donation.

Alexis lived by this Hunter S. Thompson quote: “One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the animal rescue center.
