Obituary for Alfonso Gerardo "Dino" Di Lauro

Alfonso Gerardo “Dino” Di Lauro, 83 of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday March 3, 2024 at his home. Dino spent his last days at home surrounded by family. Born in Caposele, Avellino Italy. He was the son of the late Alfonso Egidio and Filomena (Pallante) Di Lauro. Dino emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1965. He was employed as a technical piping designer with Straubing and Rubin, in South Orange, NJ and later worked as an independent consultant with Sika Corporation in Lyndhurst before retiring. Dino graduated from technical school in Naples and attended Newark College of Engineering, now NJIT.
Dino was a faithful Catholic and held a close devotion to St. Gerard, but above all enjoyed time spent with his loving grandchildren.
Dino is survived by his son, Dino Di Lauro and wife, Keri; his daughter Donna Ryan and husband, Martin; his grandchildren, Maximillian, Leonardo, Martin, Jessica and her husband, Michael, Alexander and his great grandson, Michael. He also leaves his former spouse, Leonora and his brother, Carlo Di Lauro.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 6 from 4 - 8 pm at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Silver Lake, Belleville at 11 am followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
