Loving Father, Grandfather & Brother
Andrea Mollica, 87 of Bloomfield passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Born in Sicily, Italy to the late Rosario and Santa (Sidoti) Mollica, he lived in Sicily until he moved to Bloomfield 64 years ago.
While living in Italy, he worked as a Military Policeman . After immigrating to the United States he worked as a freight manager for the Erie Lackawanna Rail Road. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a butcher and owned his own grocery store in Newark.
He was an avid bowler and fisherman and loved playing cards.
Andrea is survived by his children Cynthia, Russell and Tina Marie Mollica; his granddaughter Jennifer Grace Mollica and his sister in Italy, Giuseppina Mollica. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by 12 sisters and brothers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Belleville at 11 a.m.
The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum in North Arlington.
Visitors will be received on Thursday morning at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
