Angela “Connie” Longo, age 101 of Cedar Grove, passed away on Wednesday April 3, 2019.
Born in Newark, she lived in Harrison prior to coming to Cedar Grove 18 years ago.
Connie was the daughter of the late Anthony and Teresa (Rigato) Lancieri.
She worked as a receptionist and shipping clerk for Towncliff, Newark.
After retirement, she worked as a receptionist for the Newark Housing Authority.
Connie belonged to the Rosary Society at Holy Cross Church in Harrison.
The beloved wife of the late Alvaro Longo, she is survived by her daughter, Theresa Grasso; her daughter-in-law, Marlene Grasso, her nieces, Marlene, Teresa, and Linda-Gail; her grandchildren, Anthony, Denise, Joanne, Gerard, and Cara; her 13 great-grandchildren; and her loving companion, James Freda.
She is predeceased by her son, Joseph Grasso; her brothers, Frank and Joseph Lancieri; and her sister, Marie “Jean” Liguori.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm.
The funeral will be on Tuesday at 9:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The Funeral mass will be celebrated in the Mother Cabrini Chapel at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Avenue Nutley, NJ 07110, at 10:30am.
The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Barnabas Hospice would be preferred.
