Obituary for Angeline "Angie" Panulla (Berardinelli)

Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother

Angeline Panulla (Angie), 92 of Matawan, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Born in Scranton, PA, she lived in Belleville and Bloomfield before moving to Matawan. Angeline was the daughter of the late Vincenzo (James) and Maria (Mariani) Berardinelli.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her children, James Panulla, Jr., Paul J. Panulla and his wife, Maria, Annmarie Grasso and her husband, Nicholas. She also leaves her three grandchildren, Theresa Bacchetta and her husband, Corey, Nicholas Grasso, II, and Stephanie Ruggiero and her husband, Richard; 5 great-grandchildren, Gianna, Nina, Kristina, Sarah, and Joseph, and many beloved nieces and nephews; especially Linda Lopez and her husband, Sergio. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Panulla, a brother, Michael Berardinelli, and sisters, Mary Quinnan, Josephine Piqqa, and Gloria Dishaw.

Angie's life was devoted to her family, her tremendous faith and to helping others, always putting others above herself. Angie believed that there was good in everyone and her warmth and kindness will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Visitors will be received from 9:30am until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Angie’s memory to the National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey (nfbnj.org). Helping the blind was something Angie held dear to her heart.
