Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Daughter and Sister
Antoinette De Matteo, 86, of Toms River, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Antoinette was born in Newark, N.J., the daughter of the late Viola Ashley and lived and raised her family in Nutley, prior to moving to Toms River in 2001. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Michael Albert De Matteo. Antoinette devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She is survived by four of her children, Denise Panicci, Adrienne De Matteo, Patti Cainzos and her husband, John, and Anthony De Matteo; seven grandchildren, Michael and Joseph Panicci, Joseph and Paul Giglio, Gianna Cainzos and Joseph and Sarea De Matteo; five great- grandchildren, Francesca, Michael Albert, Paul, Vincent and Salvatore and her sister-in-law, Florence Gilgar and her husband, Arthur. Antoinette was predeceased by her son, Joseph, her granddaughter, Christin Giglio and her brothers Albert and Charles Ashley.
The funeral will be Friday, March 24th at 9:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, N.J.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 11:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stiude.org) would be preferred.
