Loving Mother and Nana
Arlene Covello (nee Castles), 76, of Nutley NJ, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Carmen Covello; her parents, Charles and Marion Castles; and her granddaughter, Zoey Covello McClain. She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Turso and Karen Covello; her favorite son-in-law, Michael Turso; and her favorite person, her grandson, Dean Covello Turso. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Susan Castles, and her niece and nephews, Alison, Mark, and David Wynn.
Arlene worked as an administrative assistant for Banks Bros. Corporation in Bloomfield, NJ, for more than 20 years.
She was known for her sweet tooth and always having cake, pie, pastry, or cookies for what she termed “coffee and”. Arlene could often be seen posing with a martini, wine, or margherita glass and a smile from ear to ear. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the campground in Jackson, NJ, and making drinks in her trailer. She is now having the tastiest appletini in Heaven.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre Street, Nutley, on Thursday, March 16, from 4 - 7pm.
