Obituary for Benjamin F. Lucas
Benjamin F. Lucas, 74, of Nutley passed away on March 1, 2021, at his home. Born in Newark, NJ, he was a lifelong Nutley resident. Benny was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Higgins) Lucas. A graduate of Nutley High School, he was a football player and wrestler. After graduation he enlisted and served in the United States Navy and was a proud Veteran. Benny was a retired glazier with Innovative Closet Design in Wyckoff, NJ.
Benny loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching the NY Giants, going down the shore, and up the country.
The father of the late Ryan M. Lucas, Benny was also predeceased by his grammar school sweetheart and wife, Susan (Ryan) Lucas. He leaves behind his devoted son, Benjamin F. Lucas Jr., and fiancée Christina Giovannelli, loving sister, Carol Ferraro, and cherished grandchildren Vincent Lucas, Riley Lucas, Vincent Giovannelli, and Nicolas Giovannelli. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral will be Friday, March 5, 2021 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, at 9:00 am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 120 Prospect Avenue, Nutley, NJ at 10:00 am.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 4-7pm
