Obituary for Bernard Beninati

Bernard Beninati, 78 of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday September 6, 2018. Born in Passaic, he was the son of the late Frank and Carmella (Zappia) Beninati. He lived in Nutley before coming to Bloomfield 49 years ago and was the service manager at Open Road Cadillac, formerly Royal Cadillac in Florham Park before retiring. Ben began work as a line mechanic at Central Cadillac in Newark in 1960 and later was employed with L.A. Depp Cadillac and Royal Cadillac in Florham Park as a mechanic, service advisor and service department manager for many years. He was also a member of the Certified Cadillac Craftsman League and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis (Vocaturo) Beninati, his sons, Frank Beninati and wife, Liana, and Gregory Beninati. He also leaves his grandson, Giovanni and his sisters, Frieda Cuozzo and her husband, Michael and Marie Marano and her husband, Sal.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St. Nutley on Monday September 10, 2018 at 8:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 am followed by entombment at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm.
