Carmela J. Picone, 96 of Nutley, passed away on Saturday September 4, 2021. Born and raised in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rose (Buscarino) Cino. Mrs. Picone came to Nutley 20 years ago and was the administrative assistant to the registrar of Rutgers University School of Law before retiring. She was also a member of the Belleville Seniors Tuesday Club. Carmela was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Picone and her daughter, Rosemary. She is survived by her loving daughters, Lucille Masucci and husband, Jerry, Michelle Wurzel and husband, Paul and Maryanne Daly and husband, Eugene. She was the devoted grandmother of Gerard and Robert Masucci, Kyle Daly and the late Kristin Daly, great grandmother to Ashley, Courtney, Emily, Sara and Michael and dear sister to Peter Cino, Lillian Monterosa, Rosemarie Pisani, Josephine Petruzzi and the late Al and Nat Cino and Angela Ilaria and Beatrice Dessino. Carmela also leaves many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her beloved sister-in-law, the late Mary Genzone.

Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday September 9 from 4-8 pm.

Friends and family are requested to proceed directly to St. Lucy’s Church in Newark for the Funeral Mass on Friday at 10 am followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
