Obituary for Carmine P. Cerami

Carmine P. Cerami, 101 of Berkeley Township, passed away on February 24, 2021. Born in Newark, the son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Antonetta (Vigneri) Cerami, he lived in Belleville for over 70 years prior to moving to Berkeley. Carmine retired as a quality control inspector with Kearfott, Little Falls, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Anna M. (Sarrecchia) Cerami of 71 years, his granddaughter Rebecca Dermanjian, and his 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Carmine was a proud veteran of the US Army having served in World War II.

He was a skilled woodworker. You could be sure to find one of his customized napkin holders on the kitchen table in the homes of his loved ones. His greatest joy was his cherished family and their Thursday night tradition.

Carmine is survived by his children, Marie Santosuosso and her husband, James, Teresa Fury and her husband, Frank, Mildred Dermanjian and her husband, Kenneth, and Carmine P. Cerami Jr. and his wife, Lillian. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Renee Chioccariello and her husband, Daniel, James Santosuosso and his wife, Jennifer, Frank Fury and wife, Mary, David Santosuosso, Matthew Fury, Daniella and Christopher Cerami, and Shane Dermanjian; 9 great-grandchildren, Gianna, Emily, Nicholas, Olivia, Thomas, Sofia, Elizabeth, Paul, and Michael, and many loving nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, 155 William Street, Belleville, NJ 07109 on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11 AM.

The internment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
