Obituary for Carmine Joseph Auricchio

Hoffmann La Roche Retiree & Army Air Forces Veteran of WWII
Carmine Joseph Auricchio, formerly of Nutley, NJ, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 27, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Carmine moved to Greensboro in 2006 to live with his daughter, Judy Ward.
Carmine was born on March 18, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Henry and Rosalie Auricchio. He was a graduate of Nutley High School and a World War II Army Air Forces Veteran where he served as an accomplished photographer. He followed bombers to take pictures of their objectives and his pictures are currently housed at the Air Force Museum in Savannah, GA. Carmine later was hired by Hoffmann La Roche, where he worked for over 40 years and developed the audio visual aide department. He volunteered with local youth programs and headed the local chapter of the Red Cross for a time. Carmine was also a member of the Old Guard of Nutley.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Mafalda (Naturale) Auricchio and four siblings, Susan Talbot, Rosemary Aurichio, Louis Auricchio, and Anthony Aurichio. Survivors include his children, Judy & Doug Ward, Neil & Joann Auricchio, and Edward & Cindy Auricchio; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Henry “Herky” Auricchio
The committal service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ on Thursday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Lung Association in his name.
