Carole E. Smith, 86 of Nutley, passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2022 at her home. Born in East Orange, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche A. (Johnson) Dunn. Carole lived in Bloomfield before coming to Nutley more than 60 years ago. She was employed as a school crossing guard with the Nutley Department of Public Safety before retiring after 36 years of service. A devoted wife and loving mother, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alexander E. Smith and is survived by her children, Robert Smith and wife Laura, Lorraine Minichini and husband, John, and Daniel Smith and wife, Carol. She also leaves her grandchildren Regina Peters, Luke Smith, Heather Haczyk, Kristen Carlsen, Alexander Smith, and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Saturday December 10 at 8:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 am followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday, December 9th from 4-8 pm.
