Obituary for Chesterino "Chester" A. Penna

Chesterino “Chester” A. Penna, 86 of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday December 29, 2021, at his home. Born in Newark, he was the son of the late Juan and Nicolina (Di Biasi) Penna. Chester lived in Bloomfield before coming to Toms River 13 years ago. Mr. Penna was the owner of Penna Uniform Supply in Bloomfield and was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of American Legion Post 299 in Belleville. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife, Antonina (Galioto) Penna, his children, Sue Ann Penna, Nicholas Penna and Denise Shephard and her husband, Brian and his grandchildren, Charles Caplan, and Daniel Shephard. Chester was also the dear brother of Geraldine Guarino, the late Peter, John, Nicholas and Ralph Penna and the late Mildred Greco, Rose Tiano, Nancy Green, Mae Del Buono, Antoinette D’Agostino and Mary Ricci.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, Nutley on Monday January 3, 2022, at 9:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 103 Gould Ave. North Caldwell at 11 am.

Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown at a later date.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday January 2,2022, from 2-6 pm.
