Loving Mother & Grandmother
Christine “Chris” Ruth Valvano, age 88 of Belleville, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Born in East Orange, she lived in Newark before coming to Belleville 65 years ago. Chris was the daughter of the late Stephen & Alice Cesh. She retired as a manager for ADP in Clifton. Her hobbies included watching old movies & reading, and she enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. The beloved wife of the late John G. Valvano, she was the loving mother of, Christy Bradley, and Maryann Silvestri & her husband Sal. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Salvatore Silvestri, Samantha Silvestri & her husband Michael Cardona, Casey Bradley-Natale, and Jamie Bradley; her great-grandchildren, Michael Cardona, Nicolas Cardona, Matthew Cardona, and Elaina Natale; and her nieces, Alice and Chris. Chris is predeceased by her son Joseph Valvano, her brother Ben, and her sister Alice.
The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Saturday 9:30-11:00am.
