Christine Abate, 84 of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Born in Bayside Queens, the daughter of James and Tepiscore (Salimusas) Cosmas, she was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn.
Prior to her retirement, Christine worked in the Marketing Department at Community Hospital in Brooklyn. She was a member of the St. Edmunds Rosary Altar Society and the 61st Precinct Community Council in Brooklyn.
The beloved wife of the late Thomas Abate, she is survived by her children, Thomas Abate, Tina Nocera and her husband, Michael, Cory Abate-Shen and her husband Michael, Rosemarie Abate, Michael Abate and his wife, Maria and James Abate and his wife, Margarita; her sister Penny Kagel. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Michael, Julius, Athena, Noelle, Aeneas, Jonathan, David, Philip, Simon, Ana Sofia and Logan and her great-grandson, Matthew and great-granddaughter, Iris.
Her cremation and services were private.
