Obituary for Dalila Reid (Diaz)
Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend
Dalila Reid, 89, of Nutley, passed away on September 14, 2021. Born in Puerto Rico, she lived in the Bronx, NY, before moving to Nutley in 1971. Dalila was the daughter of the late Reparado and Hipolita (Valentin) Díaz. Dalila completed her cosmetology training at the Hollywood Academy of Hair and Beauty Culture in 1962. She was a beautician at hair salons in Nutley, Rutherford, and Lyndhurst for more than 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Reid, her brothers Valentin and Alberto Diaz, and her sisters Rosaura Diaz and Sonora Garland. She leaves behind her son Robert J. Reid and his wife Pauline, her devoted granddaughter Rebecca, her sister Lenore Cappiello and husband Michael, and many loving nieces and nephews. Blessed with a humble and faithful heart and a caring spirit, she set an example that we should all be encouraged to follow.
The funeral will be Friday, September 17, 2021, at 8:30 am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clare Church, 69 Allwood Road, Clifton at 9:30am on Friday.
The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 4-8pm.
