Obituary for Domenick DiSimone

Retired Nutley Fire Captain, Devoted husband, father and grandfather

Domenick DiSimone, Jr. of Nutley, passed away on Monday September 6, 2021 at his home. Born and raised in Newark, he was the son of the late Domenick P. and Josephine (Giuliano) DiSimone. Domenick came to Nutley 48 years ago and served the Township of Nutley as a volunteer Firefighter for many years before becoming a member of Fire Department for over 27 years, retiring as a Fire Captain. Domenick was also a NJ State Fire Inspector, Fire Inspector for Morris Township and member of Nutley FMBA #44 and the NJ FMBA 500 Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife, June (Wardell) DiSimone, his loving children, Bryan DiSimone (Sara), Daniel DiSimone (Amanda), Gary Misner (Sarah), Greg Misner (Gabrielle) and his grandchildren, Julia, Michael, Gabriella, Emma and Vincent.
Domenick also leaves his sisters, Maryann Galenas and her husband, Andy, Gloria DiSimone, his sister-in-law, Shan DiSimone, his nieces and nephews, Matthew (Lisa), Patrick (Kate), and Shanna and his great Nephews Matthew III and Anthony and his beloved dog Dexter. He was predeceased by his brothers, Larry and Matthew DiSimone, Sr.

Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Saturday September 11 at 9:00 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield at 10:00am.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 pm. Cremation will be private.
