Douglas Gregory Duras, 73 of Nutley, passed away on Friday September 4, 2020. Born and raised in Passaic, he was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret (Tulenko) Duras. Douglas came to Nutley 48 years ago and was a telephone technician with Verizon for 55 years. Douglas is survived by his sisters, Gayle and Linda Duras and many dear friends and co-workers.

Doug was a special person. He treated everyone with respect and kindness. He easily could turn a stranger into a friend. Doug had a heart of gold which he willingly shared with others. No matter who you were or what you might need, Doug would be there to help you. Doug loved his cats and over the decades, he lost several due to age and illness. His sorrow at their passing was so deep that his veterinarian’s office once sent him flowers. If you were lucky enough to know Doug, then you will remember him as a warm, caring, and generous soul with crystal clear blue eyes.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. in Nutley on Sunday September 13 from 12 noon to 4 pm.
