Obituary for Douglas J. Eisenfelder

Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather

Douglas Eisenfelder, 79 of Nutley, passed away on Friday December 21, 2018. Born in Newark, Douglas was a lifelong resident of Nutley. He was the son of Ann D. (Sime) and Charles A. Eisenfelder.
He was a graduate of Princeton University and received his MBA from Columbia University. Prior to his retirement, Doug worked at Sterling Drug Co. New York City where he was the Director of Corporate Planning. He was a lifetime member of Vincent Methodist Church.
Doug was a member of the Nutley Masonic Lodge #25, and was a former member of the Nutley Board of Education, Nutley Zoning Board, and Nutley Family Service Bureau. Doug also was a member of the Nutley Town Club and one of the founders of the Academic Booster Club, Lets Learn, The Kingsland Trust & Nutley Historical Society (treasurer). He worked on many local election campaigns including treasurer for Joanne Cocchiola. Doug was a big fan of Boston cream donuts and chocolate chip cookies.
Doug is survived by his daughters; Maurya Contini & her husband Peter, and Gretchen Snyder; his brother, Charles Eisenfelder; his sister, Caryl Mundy; and his grandchildren; Marin, Jack, Kate, Anna, Charlie, Mia, Finn & Henry. He is predeceased by his wife Anne Lynne (McNeil) Eisenfelder.


The funeral service will be Friday at 10:30am at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Nutley Family Service Bureau would be appreciated.
