Obituary for Elda Emilia Rodriguez
Elda Emilia Rodriguez (Abuela Tina), 95 passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 joining her husband of 65 years, Jesus Rodriguez. Tina retired many years ago and was a longtime resident of Newark, New Jersey.
Tina was born in Ranchuelo, Cuba on May 30, 1925 to Maria Alvarez and Nestor Rodriguez. She left Cuba with her husband and two daughters on January 27, 1970 to escape the dictatorship of the island. Tina was an integral part of the success of the family business.
Tina is survived by her two beloved daughters, Lis Padron, and Odalys Carreño, and her incredible grandchildren, Manny Padron, Andrew Fernandez, Adriel Carreño and Erin Carreño, and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Elliott Padron, and Nora Carreño.
Tina devoted her life to her home and daughters and her happiest moments were with the family dancing Cuban music and eating Cuban food. Abuela Tina will always be missed. “Te quiero mucho”.
