Eleanor Lelio, a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 84 of Belleville, passed away on Thursday December 3, 2020. Born and raised in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Lillian (Aquilano) De Falco. Eleanor moved to Belleville 68 years ago.
She met the love of her life, the late Michael Lelio, when 16 years old. They married on September 22, 1957, had three beautiful children, and shared 63 wonderful, joy-filled years together. Eleanor dedicated her world to her family and home. An admirable Italian cook and baker, she took pride in sharing and spreading love with others through food. Her kitchen was always opened for business.
Eleanor is survived by her three daughters, Carol and Michele Lelio and Elaine Seiler.
She was grandmother to Kristin & Pete Velardi, Nicole Seiler, Michael Lelio, Kaitlyn Seiler, Tyler Lelio, Nikki Lelio and husband, Alec Northrup, Zachary Lelio, Joshua and Makenzie McGowan, and the late Alexis Lelio.
Great grandmother of Nicholas, Pietro, Gabriella, Dominic, Marco and Anthony.
Relatives and friends will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Friday December 11 from 4-7 pm. The Funeral Service and entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be private.
