Ellen Ann Sharkey, 65 of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday August 5, 2022, at her home. Born in Newark, she was the daughter Edward J. and the late Joan A. (Papson) Sharkey. Ellen was raised in Bloomfield, then in Nutley and lived in Jersey City before coming to Bloomfield 19 years ago. She attended Bloomfield and Nutley High Schools. Ellen loved music, dancing, dogs, movies, and the shore. A loving daughter and sister and dear aunt, Ellen is survived by her father Edward, her brother, Michael Patrick Sharkey, her sisters, Joan Marie Tartell and husband, Gary, Mary Chiaramonte and husband, Chris, Patricia Elizabeth Paton and husband, Gary and her niece and nephews, Jennifer, Matthew, and Nicholas. She also leaves her godfather Uncle Martin Henry and godmother Mary Sheehan, and many devoted cousins and friends.

Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Friday August 12 from 3:30-8 pm. A funeral service will also be conducted on Friday evening at 7:30 pm.

Cremation and committal at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield will be private.
