Obituary for Elvia Perez (Rivero)

Elvia Perez, 85, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Born in Esmeralda, Camaguey, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Eloisa (Rodriguez) Rivero. Elvia came to the United States with her two sons in 1966 and lived in Harrison and Kearny before settling in Newark. She worked at RCA in Harrison and later with Valcor Corp. in Springfield, from where she retired as an inspector. A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her son Ignacio Rangel and daughter-in-law Consuelo; grandchildren Leilani and David Rangel; and five great grandchildren Penelope, Oliver, Phineas, Silas and Maximus Rangel. She will also be missed by her many friends. Elvia was predeceased in death by her son Geronimo Rangel and her grandchildren Tracy, Wesley and Mark Rangel. She also leaves her brother Eliecer Rodriguez and sisters, Emelia Placentia and Elida Rivero Alleque.

Visiting is on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Nutley, NJ, from 9-10 am. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
