Elzbieta Augustyn, 70, of Nutley, passed away on Monday January 15, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Born in Krakow, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Tadeusz and Krystyna (Korman) Pilarski. Elzbieta emigrated from Poland in 1987 and worked in Americana Portraits and then Columbus Hospital. She was a Sterile Processing Technician at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark before retiring.
She is survived by her loving children, Anna Yanicak and her husband Paul, Dariusz Augustyn and his wife Katarzyna, Krystyna Testa and her husband Vito, and her six grandchildren Jacob and Joshua, Ryan and Isabella, and Giuliana and Dominick. She was also the dear sister of Ewa Beniowska.

Elzbieta was a woman with great energy and passion for life. She enjoyed hiking, kayaking, skiing, and traveling. Elzbieta was also a great cook and loved to feed her family and friends. She was a devout parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and most recently a member of the Rosary Society.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Nutley on Monday January 22, 2024 at 10:30 am followed by committal at Glendale Cemetery Mausoleum in Bloomfield.
