Emily Conception Dela Cruz, 43 of Los Angeles, CA, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Born in Orange, the daughter of Maria (Barroga) Dela Cruz and the late Elmo M. Dela Cruz, she lived in East Orange and San Francisco, CA prior to moving to Los Angeles 2 years ago.
Emily worked as an Escrow Assistant with WFG Title Company in Los Angeles. She was an amateur ballroom dancer who loved to perform, compete, and teach. She was a member of Dance Street California in Los Angeles, and Vima Dance Studio in San Francisco. Emily began her dance career in the 80s and 90s with the Folklorico Filipino Dance Company of New York.
Emily is survived by her loving mother, Maria (Barroga) Delacruz; her sisters, Cynthia Dela Cruz and Clarissa Rhodes; her nephew, Joseph Rhodes and her partner and longtime companion, Sedoris Ferguson.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 5, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley at 8:45 a.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church in East Orange at 10 a.m.
The cremation services and entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover will be held privately.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
