Retired contractor, U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran
Enrico “Rico” Luciano Malfitano of Nutley, passed away on Monday October 24, 2016 at his home. Born in Newark and raised in Newark the son of the late Luciano and Agatha (Ferrara) Malfitano, he came to Nutley in 1969. Mr. Malfitano was a self-employed general contractor before retiring . Rico was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and later enlisted in the Air Force, serving until 1951. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie (Pepe) Malfitano and was the devoted father of Michael and his wife, Lorraine, Enrico and his wife, Vicky, Anthony and his wife, Mary and Louis Malfitano and his wife, the late Wanda. He also leaves 11 devoted grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his brothers, Albert, Angelo and Alfio.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday October 27 at 10 am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nutley at 11 am. Cremation will be private.
Visiting will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
