Obituary for Evelyn O. Merritt (Schmidt)
Evelyn O. Merritt, long time resident of Parkside Apartments in Nutley, age 100, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020. Evelyn was born in New Haven, Ct. daughter of the late Martin and Natalie (Yaeger) Schmidt. She retired as an Insurance Professional from Pilgrim Agency in Lyndhurst.
The beloved wife of the late Gordon W. Merritt, Evelyn is survived by her three sons Arnold, Ronald and wife Mary Ellen, and Russell Merritt; her daughter Lisa Teterskis and husband Carl, 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Donald and his wife Valentina, her daughter Joan Ferenczy, her brothers William and Roy Schmidt, and her sister Viola Coman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to VNA Barnabas Health Home Care and Hospice, 80 Main St, Suite 210, West Orange, N.J. 07052 would be appreciated.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, October 10th at 11:15 AM at Glendale Cemetery on Hoover Ave. in Bloomfield
