Obituary for Fionnuala Elizabeth Coyle

Devoted Mother, Loving Wife, Cherished Daughter, and Beloved Sister

Fionnuala Elizabeth Coyle, 47, of Nutley, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York City on October 6, 1975. She spent her early years in Ireland before moving back to the States, where she lived in New York City for about one year before moving to Garland, Texas and then to Fairfax, Virginia. In her early 20s she moved to New Jersey where she settled and made a home.

Fionnuala was well known for her determined mindset and driven personality. In Texas she began driving at the age of 12 and working at the age of 14. She began her professional career working in the hospitality industry before starting in a temporary position at Stevens Institute of Technology upon moving back to New Jersey. She was quickly hired in a fulltime position where through the years she provided administrative support to several academic units before finally landing in the Office of Human Resources, where she remained until she left to start her family. She excelled in planning events, managing employees, budgets, and scheduling, and most of all working very closely with people.

Outside of work she loved shoes, shoes, and more shoes. She also loved music, cooking, and was a misguided Dallas Cowboys fan. While she was well known for her dancing and her sense of humor. she was best known for her kindness and selflessness, as helping others was her genuine passion.

Fionnuala was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. With her beloved husband Frank Fisher they brought into the world two beautiful young girls, Harper Elizabeth (born August 21, 2020) and Riley Kathleen-Frances (born February 17, 2022). These girls were the center of her world and she was the happiest and most exceptional mother. She is also survived by her loving parents Liam and Kathleen Coyle and sisters Siobhan and Kathleen Anne. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and her many friends.

A wake to celebrate her life will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley, NJ on Friday, January 20th from 6 – 9pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 21st at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 17 Monsignor Owens Place, Nutley, NJ.
