Loving Daughter, Sister & Aunt
Florence De Giacomo, 87 of Bloomfield passed way on Sunday, December 1, 2019. Born in Nutley, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Turano) De Giacomo she lived in Nutley and Belleville prior to moving to Bloomfield 20 years ago.
Prior to her retirement, Florence worked as a secretary for Westinghouse Electric in Hillside.
She was a member of Adult Education and Bible Study at Holy Family Church as well as the Nutley Senior Citizens Friday Club.
She is survived by her sister, Sadie De Giacomo; 8 nieces and nephews; 14 grandnieces and grandnephews; 3 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; many loving cousins and her sister-in-law, Sue Ciofero. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Rose Russo and her brothers, Angelo, August and Nick De Giacomo.
The funeral will be Thursday, December 5, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 9:30 a.m.
The Funeral Mass will be at Holy Family Church in Nutley at 10:30 a.m.
The interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lyndhurst.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), or Holy Family Church Restoration Fund, 28 Brookline Ave. Nutley, NJ 07110 would be preferred.
