Florence “Flip” Halbert, 86

Florence “Flip” Halbert, of Belleville, passed away on September 22, 2018. Born in Newark, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget (San Giacomo) Lambiase, she lived in Nutley prior to moving to Belleville 60 years ago.
Prior to her retirement, Flip worked as the bookkeeper for Viola Brothers in Nutley. She was an avid bowler, an avid New York Giants, New Jersey Devils and New York Mets Fan and an accomplished cookie maker.
The beloved wife of the late James Halbert, she is survived by her children, Sharon Monk and her husband, Fred, Lynn Porecco and her husband, Michael, Judy Chamberlain and her husband, Richie, J.J. Halbert and his wife, Elisa and David Halbert and his wife, Mary Ann. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, David and Jennifer Monk, Michael Porecco and his wife, Joanne, Melissa Koehler and her husband, Kevin, Erin Chamberlain, Sara Campione and her husband, Nick, Anna Chamberlain, Joseph, Christopher and David Halbert.

The funeral service will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

The cremation services will be held privately.
