Frances Alessio, 89, of Nutley, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023. Frances was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Kolmer) Barberia and a lifelong Nutley resident. She loved raising her six children and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, luncheons with friends, bowling, and winter getaways to Mexico. The beloved wife of Angelo Alessio, Frances is survived by her children Susan Casale and her husband Joseph, Thomas Alessio and his wife Julie, Robert Alessio, Janice Nichols and her husband Mark, Debra Alessio, and John Alessio and his wife Jennifer, brother Frank Barberia, sister Joan Evangelo, four grandchildren Melissa Casale and her husband Eric Hartstein, Megan Byrnes and her husband Kenny, Jennifer Calero and her husband James, and Kimberly Alessio and her fiance Kyle Scherm, and two great-grandchildren Francesco and Giulia Calero.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Tuesday, March 28th from 9am – 11am. The Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
