Obituary for Francisco M. Gabriel

Loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Grandfather

Francisco M. Gabriel, 79, of Belleville, NJ, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 31,
2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bacolor Pampanga, Philippines, Francisco was the son of the late Manuel and Ursula Gabriel. He graduated from University of the East with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He immigrated to the United States in 1972. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a CPA for many of the top financial firms such as the Bank of New York, Chase Manhattan Bank and Citibank in New York City. He and his wife were active members of the Filipino Apostolates.

Francisco is survived by his beloved wife Teresita Gabriel (nee Guiterrez), his daughter Rainelda Gabriel-Taormina and her husband Daniel, his sons Paolo and his wife Sandra, Rodney and his wife Sonu, and Angelo and his wife Jolina; his eight beautiful grandchildren Jared, Rayna, Emily, Sarah, Raven, Krishtian, Alexa, and Austin. He was predeceased by his sister, Juanita Uncad.

Francisco, also referred to as “Kuya Boy” or “Frank”, was dearly loved by his family and friends for having the kindest heart, and for his caring and hospitable nature. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading the morning newspaper while drinking his “hot hot” coffee. He had a sweet tooth, especially for ice cream. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed rooting for the Giants and Jets. He would often start his stories with, ‘You wouldn’t believe it..’ and go on to tell a very believable story. He was an easy going man who enjoyed the simple things in life. What he valued most of all was spending time with his family - particularly his grandchildren, who he loved dearly.

Visitation will be at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com),
267 Centre Street of Nutley on Thursday, January 4th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 120 Prospect Street, Nutley on Friday January 5th at 10:30a.m. The entombment of ashes at Holy Cross Mausoleum will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in his name to www.stjude.org or
