Obituary for Frank F. Viola

Frank F. Viola, 93, died May 27, 2022, at his home in Upper Montclair, N.J.
Mr. Viola is survived by his wife Gloria (Fusaro), 2 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses, Frank and Luz Viola, Gerard and Andrea Viola, Elizabeth Viola, and Mary Ann and Richard Ponsart; 2 sisters Louise Cremonni and Mary Viventi; and 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father and mother Louis and Elizabeth Viola, brother Thomas Viola and granddaughter Kimberly Viola.

Until his retirement in 1990, Mr. Viola was president of Louis Viola Company, Industrial Haulage Corp. and Pizzeria Uno. He graduated from Holy Cross College in 1952. At Holy Cross College he was a member of the order of the Purple Knights. He was a life member of the Nutley Elks and a past president and life member of the Nutley Optimist Club. He was also a member of the North Jersey and Ocean Acres Country Clubs.
Mr. Viola served as an advisory board member for the First Union Bank. He was also one of the founders of Franklin Bank. He served in the Army for two years during the Korean War.

Mr. Viola’s first love was being with his family and traveling. Frequently the entire family would journey to Walt Disney World, the Caribbean, and Europe. Besides golf, the Jersey Shore was his great passion. Mr. Viola and his wife were league bowlers for over 50 years.
