Obituary for Frederick R. Lyons
Loving Son, Brother and Uncle
Frederick R. Lyons 69 of Belleville passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Born in the Bronx, New York to the late Robert and Catherine Lyons, he lived in North Arlington, NJ before moving to Belleville 30 years ago. Fred served in the United States Army and was a retired Police Officer for Essex County Police Department. He was also a member of the North Arlington Elks, Blue Knights Motorcycle Organization, Emerald Society and PBA Local 54.
Fred enjoyed outdoor sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman. A very generous person, he was quick to donate to multiple charities.
Frederick is survived by his sisters Barbara Campbell and Kathy Roman, his nephews Gary Scott & Brian Campbell and nieces Noel Palmer and Mikayla Roman. He will be greatly missed by his cousins, especially Captain Jack McGroarty, who was his lifelong best friend.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11 am at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre Street in Nutley.
The cremation will be private.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday, March 25 from 4 - 8 pm
