Obituary for Gary A. Iacobacci

On Tuesday, February 16, 2021 Jesus decided Gary A. Iacobacci’s work on Earth was done. He called him Home. Gary was the youngest of 4 children born to the late Frank and Rose (Spezzaferra) Iacobacci on August 17, 1956. Born in Newark, he lived in Stephen Crane Village and attended Abington Avenue Grammar School. When he was 8 years old, the family moved to Belleville. In 1970, they moved to Bloomfield. Gary graduated Bloomfield High School followed by R.E.T.Z Institute in Nutley. He began a career in the medical field as a Medical Equipment Technician fixing blood machines in hospitals and doctors’ offices. Eventually, Gary was bitten by the community service bug. He served as Councilman in Bloomfield for 2 terms beginning in 1990-1996. He continued with public service helping many successfully run for different political offices. Always with the citizens’ best interest in mind. Gary did not have acquaintances as each person he encountered through his life quickly became his friend. Gary was predeceased by his brother Frank C. Iacobacci. He is survived by his son Gary Jr. (Christine), daughters Marie Iacobacci and Kristina Reese (Billy), his grandsons Donovan Reese and Giovani Iacobacci, his sister MaryAnn Mignone (Michael) his brother Ken Iacobacci (Charlene), nieces and nephews Ginamarie Mignone-Smith (Art), Michael F. Mignone (Sue), Marlana Farina (Joe), Monique Iacobacci, Frank C. Iacobacci Jr., Lisamarie Iacobacci, Kenny Iacobacci Jr. Rest in Peace father, granddad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, good neighbor. You are in our hearts forever-remembered always with a smile.

Visitors will be received at the SW Brown and Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre Street, Nutley, NJ 07110, On Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 1-5pm

Funeral on Monday at 11:30am, Interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the attendance may not exceed 55 persons at a time. Please be considerate of other people waiting that may be waiting outside to pay their respects.

All visitors are required to wear a mask and social distancing is required.
