Gennaro Gencarelli, 95, of Bloomfield New Jersey passed away on April 22,2021. He was born in Luzzi, Provencia di Coscenza, Calabria, Italy. He lived in Newark before moving to Bloomfield since 1979. He retired from J. Wiss and Sons Newark where he was a machinist. He also worked as a baker both in Gencarelli’s Bakery in Bloomfield and Brothers Bakery in Kearney. Gennaro was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed the time he spent with his family. He had served in the Italian Army and was an avid gardener and hard worker all his life. Gennaro was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria (Bufalino) Gencarelli in 2004. Surviving is his dear daughter Susan Pineno and a brother Gerardo Gencarelli in Italy. He was predeceased by his son in law James Pineno and five brothers Eugenio, Ernesto, Benedetto, Emilio, and Pasquale.

The funeral will be Monday, April 26, 2021 at 8:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 26,2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Bloomfield at 9:30 am.

The entombment will follow at Glendale Cemetery Bloomfield, NJ.

Visitors will be received at funeral home on Sunday April 25, 2021 from 2-5pm
