Obituary for Gerardo "Gerry" Conte
Gerardo “Gerry” Conte, 63 of Nutley, passed away on Friday April 30, 2021. Born and raised in Italy, he was the son of Maria (Valitutto) Conte and the late Vito Conte. Gerry also lived in Germany before coming to Nutley in 1981. Mr. Conte was a screen supervisor with PNC in Nutley before retiring.
Along with his mother, Gerry is survived by his beloved wife, Carmela (Benevenga) Conte, his loving children, Vito Conte and Jennifer Conte and husband, Nicholas Ferrara and his grandchildren, Nicholas Gerardo and Domenica Carmela Ferrara. He leaves his sister, Assunta Conte and husband, Benny and was predeceased by his twin brother, Giulio. Gerry was the dear son-in-law of Domenica and the late Vito Benevenga, brother-in-law to Gino Benevenga and wife, Elma, and Angela Carbone and husband, Jamie and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Sunday May 2 from 3-7 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 am followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
