Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

German R. Baraquio, 80, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at his home in Nutley. Born in the City of Sual in the Province of Pangasinan, Philippines, the son of Teodoro and Eugenia (Ramiscal) Baraquio, he lived in the Philippines prior to moving to Nutley 36 years ago.

Gerry received his Bachelor’s degree from University of the East and his M.B.A. from University of Manila. In his prominent accounting career, Gerry served as a Controller and Treasurer at Westinghouse Asia Controls Corporation in Canlubang, Philippines, and Chief Accountant of Geyer Development Corporation in Newark, NJ. Most recently, he worked as a financial services representative at Primerica Financial Services in East Rutherford, NJ.

He was a member of the St. Clare’s Church Choir, Philippine Day Organizing Council, and the Nutley Old Guard, and a founder of the Filipino-American Community of St. Anthony’s Church in Passaic. He was a bowling enthusiast, and absolutely loved cooking, singing, watching movies – especially musicals, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Anne Nael; his daughter, Melanie Baraquio; his brothers and sisters, Araceli Nael, Reuel Nael, Raquel Nael-Marrero and her husband Al; his niece Monett Nael and her husband Garry Santos; his nephew Levy Reyes; his adored grandchildren, Sean, Karilee and Leeiah Santos; and a large and loving extended family of relatives and friends both in the U.S. and the Philippines.

The funeral will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 commencing from S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 9:00 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clare Church in Clifton at 10:00 a.m.

The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday, September 27, 2019, from 4 - 8 p.m.
