Gertrude DeBenedictis, 87 of New Providence, passed away on Wednesday April 28, 2021. Born in Nutley, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Zappia) Miscia. Gertrude lived in Whippany before coming to New Providence 3 years ago.
A devoted wife and beloved mother and grandmother, Gertrude was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jerry DeBenedictis. She is survived by her sons, Gerald and his wife, Catherine, Steven and his wife, Anita and her grandchildren, Michael and Nicole DeBenedictis. She was also the dear sister of Janet Colson, Carol Miscia, Patricia Howard and the late Marie Wengryn.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley on Wednesday May 5 at 10:30 am.
Entombment at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield will be private.
