Hazel A. Purvis, 89, of Belleville, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023. Born in Cornelia, Ga, Hazel was the daughter of the late Curtis and Mary (Merck) Garrison. She retired as Vice President of Carteret Savings Bank, South Orange. The beloved wife of the late Donald Purvis, Hazel is survived by her children James G. Purvis and Donna Tennis, four grandchildren Jessica Olejnik and her husband Mike, Jennifer Lands and her husband Carl, Liana Purvis, and Jim Purvis and his wife Meghan, and three great-grandchildren Nora Jean, Reilly, and Jackson.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 3pm – 7pm. Funeral Service will take place at 6:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hazel’s name to Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org) would be appreciated. Link to donate can also be found below.
