Retired Newark Police Officer – Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather
Heriberto Ballester, Jr., 64 of Bloomfield passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Born in Arecibo, PR, the son of Heriberto and Haydee (Rivera) Ballester, he lived in Newark prior to moving to Bloomfield 28 years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he served as a police Officer for the City of Newark. He was a member of the Newark FOP and the Hispanic Law Enforcement Association.
Heriberto is survived by his beloved wife, Olga (Rivera) Ballester; his children, Omaira Ballester, Dilia Coppedge and her husband Andre, and Daniel Ballester; 6 grandchildren, Tristan, Natalia, Isiah, Iriana, Laila and Alanna; 3 sisters, Myrna Maisonave, Haydee Montiero and Catherine Ballester and 2 brothers, Wilfred and Erick Ballester.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 11 a.m.
The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
