Obituary for Jack J. Magnifico

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great-Grandfather

Jack J. Magnifico, 91 of Belleville, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Born in New York, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Lucille (Saitta) Magnifico, Jack lived in Nutley prior to moving to Belleville 10 years ago. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Master Carpenter for IATSE, International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees, Local #1.

Jack graduated from the Carnagie Institute of Technology with a degree in Engineering. He was a member of Nutley’s Old Guard, Nutley’s Amvets Post #30, and a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post #70. He was also a member of Majestic Boat Club and a volunteer for the East Orange VA Medical Center.

The beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Ann (Pine) Magnifico, Jack is survived by his children, James J. Magnifico and his wife Linda, Judith Ann Keehart and her husband Wayne, Peter J. Magnifico and his wife Cindy, Nancy E. Thunell and her husband Carl, and John J. Magnifico and his wife Marie; his grandchildren, Courtney Magnifico, Jocelyn Magnifico, Elizabeth Bertani, Jonathan Keehart, Christina Magnifico, Nicholas Magnifico, Ashley Raimondo, Brittany Thunell, Damien Magnifico, and Christopher Magnifico; and 6 great-grandchildren, Noah, Lauren, Jack, Jakob, Aiden, and Domenico. He is also survived by his dear friend, Ruth Ann Farrell.


The funeral will be Monday, October 5th at 9:30am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 10:30am.

The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, October 4th from 2-6pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/donate, would be appreciated.

Please keep in mind of all social distancing rules. In order to enter the premises, you must have and wear a mask. Only 55 people are allowed within the premises at any given time, so please be mindful of your time spent paying your respects so that others will be able to do so as well.
