Obituary for James M. Knowles, Sr.
James M. Knowles, Sr. 61 of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday February 13, 2022. Born in Newark, James lived most of his life in Belleville and Bloomfield and was employed with Perfection Knife Company in Belleville for 31 years. James enjoyed his favorite hobbies, which included bowling, fishing, crabbing and trains. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Mary-Ellen (Klehm) Knowles, his loving children; daughter Marycatherine “Katy” Knowles, son James M. Knowles, Jr., and daughter Lisa Knowles. He also leaves his grandson, Damien “Lurch” Pichardo and Zachery “Baccala” Pichardo.
James was the son of the late Lila “Marilyn” Gurrieri and the late Samuel David Knowles, Sr. and dear brother of Wilma Cunningham, Wendi Nelson, Jeffrey Knowles and the late Bonnie McCumber and the late Samuel David Knowles, Jr. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Thursday February 17 from 4-8 pm.
Cremation will be private.
