Obituary for Jean Anne Kazak (Fasano)

Jean Anne Kazak, 64, of Lakewood, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at her home, surrounded by family. Born in Orange, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Rentschler) Fasano. Jean was a graduate of the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station and was a special education teacher with the Cerebral Palsy Center of Essex County, before retiring.

A devoted wife and loving mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Hikmet Kazak, and is survived by her children, Derya Kazak, Ferah Kazak and her wife Veronica, and Himmet Kazak. Jean was the dear sister of Ralph Fasano, Joseph Fasano, Jr., Marijo Fasano, Christine Evans and Theresa Ballard. She was also a beloved aunt and friend.

"Miss Jean" found her calling as a teacher at the CP Center and thought of her students as her own children, loving them and challenging them to be their best. This was one of her great loves.

Daisies were her favorite flower, and she loved the rocky Maine coastline.

A Funeral Service will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., in Nutley, on Thursday November 18 at 10:30 am followed by burial at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
