Joan Ciarletta, 85 of Belleville, passed away on Friday May 31, 2019. Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Vita (Lorusso) Ponticello. Joan lived in Nutley before coming to Belleville 32 years ago and was a bookkeeper for Holy Family Parish in Nutley. She was also a member of the Holy Family Rosary Altar Society and a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Ciarletta. She is survived by her children, Gary Ciarletta and Maria Casillas and her husband, Jose’ and her grandchildren, Anthony, Michael and Joseph Saupe. She also leaves her sister, Barbara Garruto.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St. Nutley on Wednesday June 5 at 9:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 am. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
