Joann Brennan, 70 of Nutley, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Born in Orange, Joann lived in Belleville and Bloomfield before coming to Nutley 19 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina (DeRiggi) Checkawhiz, retiring as the owner and hairdresser of Expressions Hair Salon on Union Avenue in Nutley.
Joann is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth M. Brennan; a sister, Michele Carroll; niece and nephew, Courtney and Daniel; and great niece and great nephews, Jason, Aidan, and Caelyn.
The funeral service will be on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 3:45pm from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be preferred.
Cremation will be private.
