Obituary for John R. Caruso

Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great Grandfather

John R. Caruso, 99, of Belleville, passed away on December 14, 2021. Born in Newark, NJ he resided in Belleville most of his life. John retired as a purchasing agent with Shamrock Technology, Newark, NJ.; he previously worked at ITT in Clifton/Nutley.
John was a graduate of Rutgers University, a head usher at Holy Family Church, a member of the Belleville Zoning Board, Charter member of the Italian American Civic Association of Belleville and he was an election poll worker.

John was a veteran of the US Army, having served during World War II in the European theater receiving the American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle-Eastern Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal.

He was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Poggi) Caruso. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary T (Chiaravallo) Caruso, his sister Adelaide & husband Michael Ritacco, and his brothers Oreste & wife Santina Caruso, Robert & his wife Joan Caruso, and Arthur Caruso.

He leaves behind his daughter Marguerite Ross and son John M. & wife Beverly Caruso; grandchildren Lisa Fedorka, Jessica Stack & husband Daniel, John H. Caruso & wife Courtney and David Caruso; great-grandchildren Anthony & wife Teri Martin, Trevor Martin, Vincent and Ashley Fedorka and Giovanni Caruso.

The funeral will be Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 10:30 am from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Avenue, Nutley, NJ at 11:30 am.

The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ.

Visitors will be received from 4-8 pm at the funeral home on Friday, December 17, 2021.
